News and Things:

A major change:

The following message was sent out to all DeKubber-Webb Show Horse clients & friends;

Hello,

This e-mail is to inform everyone that I will be leaving DeKubber Webb Show Horses as of July 31, 2008 to pursue other business opportunities.  I will no longer be training horses professionally and will look at options outside of the horse industry. This decision has been very difficult to make, but one that was in my best interest and that of my family.  Kerri will continue to operate the training business here at Bennett Woodland Farms, as she has as my partner for the last two years.  I fully expect that the program will continue to enjoy the success that we have always had.

Kerri has hired Brandi Peters-Coplen as an associate trainer, she will begin August 1, 2008.  Some of you will know Brandi, but I will introduce her to those that don't.

Brandi started showing AQHA 15 years ago.  She has trained and shown under Stephen Stephens and Terry Cross of Riverside Ranch from 1994 to 2000, and then rode with Sandra Morgan from 2001 to 2007.  During 2008 she worked as an assistant trainer and breeding assistant at Riverside Ranch.  She has won multiple circuit and reserve circuit championships in Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Eq., and Horsemanship at such shows as the Az. Sun Circuit, Las Vegas Silver Dollar Circuit, East Coast Championships, Dixie Nationals, Houston Livestock Show, San Antonio, NW Quarter Horse Congress, Oregon Summer Circuit, PNWQHA, Arkansas Quarter Horse Show, Oklahoma Redbud Show, etc.  She has also been Top Ten at The All American Quarter Horses Congress in NYATT Hunter Under Saddle, Finalist at the Congress Amateur Hunter Under Saddle, and Top 20 at the AQHYA World show in Hunter Under Saddle.  This year she prepared the great western pleasure horse, Glowin Easy, who went to the 2008 Paint World Show placing third in Senior Western Pleasure.  Brandi has experience in reproductive techniques and stallion management, as well as a thorough understanding of equine care.  I am certain that you will find Brandi to be a very skilled horsewoman and a wonderful addition to DeKubber Webb Show Horses.

I would like to thank everyone for the 25 years of support with my involvement in the horse industry.  I would like to thank all my clients who have trusted me with their great horses, and believing that we could achieve our goals together.  Special thanks to the two people that got me hooked on this, my dad Steve (who is one of the greatest horsemen I've ever met) , and my mom Sue (who was always there to encourage me).  I would also like to thank a few important people in my horse career, Roger Stevenson (who I laughed my ass off with), Allen Daniels (who taught a halter boy how to sit on a horse at 19yrs of age), Steve DalPorto (who taught me how to take this to the next level), and Shannon Verdier (who believed I could ride 'em, not just lead 'em). Very special thanks to my wife Karen who has supported our involvement in the horse industry every step of the way, I would never have had this success without her.

I sincerely hope that Kerri receives the same level of loyalty and respect that you all have shown to me.  She is truly a great trainer and a wonderful person.   I will always admire her ability to work tirelessly while making those around her smile and laugh.  I wish her the best and hope that she is hugely successful.  I will encourage everyone I know to send their horses to her, as I trust her completely.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me or Kerri at the farm, 360-599-3093.

My Sincere Thanks,

Mark
